The Southside is a study in housing eras. The inner suburbs — Annerley, Yeronga, Tarragindi, Greenslopes, Coorparoo — are dense with pre-war Queenslanders, many of them renovated in the 1950s and 60s when asbestos cement eaves and wall sheeting were the standard upgrade. What kinds of homes do you typically work on south of the river? +
The Southside has strong pre-war Queenslander stock in Annerley, Yeronga, Tarragindi, and Greenslopes — these often have asbestos cement eaves and external sheeting added during 1950s–60s renovations. The Mt Gravatt and Sunnybank areas lean toward 1960s–70s post-war and brick veneer with ACM walls and roofs. Carindale, Mansfield and Wishart are mid-to-late 80s estates where ACM persists in specific applications even up to 1990.
